Most people are not strangers to Charles Stanley. Recently reading his Bible App plan on Parenting Gods Way, I am fascinated by some of the things that I have neglected to do with my kids over the years until recently. Unfortunately, it took a tragedy to get us to this point in our lives.
While we are still unpacking the hurt of loss, we do find comfort is His guidance each day together. I pray each day that God guides me leading these kids to trust in Him with everything.
Even though things have not gone as we have wanted, they have gone according to His will. It is so difficult to not blame God for our circumstances but blaming Him gets you nowhere. You must use that moment that He has placed you in to rely on Him and grow deeper in His love.
Things in life will never be like we want them, but they will go according to His plan and to have fair and trust in Him is a great place to be in your life.
Below are some deeper thinking questions that were part of the reading plan by Charles Stanley. These are really good questions to have to help guide you with your children as you lead them to a spiritual relationship with Christ.
Digging Deeper
- When was the last time my children and I consulted God’s Word together for guidance on some issue they were facing? How can I help them develop the habit of turning to God when they need counsel?
- If my children were to pray as I pray, would their prayers be cursory and impatient, or full of depth, confidence, and love for God?
- Do my children see me serving in the church and reaching out regularly to other Christians for mutual support and strength? What are some steps I can take to reinforce my family’s sense of belonging in the body of Christ?
